Finished Torso

I decided to leave her flesh unglazed, naked if you will. Etching is stained with brown and a robin's egg background.

  2. came over from Leah's post: this is lovely! What glaze are you using for the brown? Have you noticed any difference with your glazes since they took all the talc out of the clay? Your blue background is yummy. Well, the whole tile is yummy! Tammy Vitale (http://TammyVitale.com) - my website is just now coming together - don't have much up, but you can see a tiny bit of work under galleries (up until this week, I couldn't get pictures to show up - transfer from Typepad to Wordpress problems).

  4. Thank you tammy. I am still pretty new to the ceramic world. Been playing around with it for about 2 years now. Mostly learning by trial and error. The brown is just a brown stain that I wipe off into the cracks. I will take a peak at your work next. I am new to all this blogging, too so I don't know if and how you get replys back? (Love Terri's work!)

  5. This is beautiful work. I love how a material that is hard can be used to make something so soft. Ceramic is durable, yet fragile if not taken care of--like our bodies.

  6. I usually send direct replys to folks who comment on my blog, but am learning to subscribe to comments on posts I'm interested in so I can follow if there's a blog-owners reply...I know I've missed a lot of replies by not doing that! If you are new to clay, can't wait to see what happens in a year or two! And trial and error seems to be the best way to learn....
